The Roselli Bear Claw knife “Nalle”, UHC is an exclusive interpretation of our compact Bear Claw knife, created in collaboration with Finnish knifemaker Kari Ohtonen. Its distinctive design combines Roselli’s Ultra High Carbon steel with Finnish curly birch, reindeer antler and traditional craftsmanship.
With a blade length of just 57 mm, Nalle is exceptionally compact and easy to control. The short blade allows you to work close to the cutting edge, making it well suited to precise cutting, detailed outdoor tasks and controlled work when processing game. Its small size also makes it easy to carry and keep close at hand in the forest.
The blade is made from Roselli’s own Ultra High Carbon (UHC) steel, developed for exceptional sharpness and outstanding edge retention. With a hardness of around 64 HRC, UHC steel is considerably harder than conventional knife steels and allows the edge to remain extremely sharp for a very long time.
This exceptional hardness also means the blade should be used as a precision cutting tool. UHC steel performs best with controlled, gliding cuts. Avoid twisting the blade or striking bone and other very hard materials to protect the fine edge.
The handle is crafted from stained Finnish curly birch and decorated with reindeer antler, giving every knife its own natural character. It is treated with linseed oil for a comfortable and secure grip, even in demanding outdoor conditions.
Nalle comes with a distinctive handcrafted sheath combining dark, vegetable-tanned Finnish leather with stained curly birch. Together with the reindeer antler details, it gives the knife an individual appearance that sets it apart from the classic Bear Claw.
Each Bear Claw knife “Nalle”, UHC is crafted, sharpened and finished by hand in Harmoinen, Finland, in collaboration with knifemaker Kari Ohtonen. Because natural materials are used, variations in pattern and texture make every knife unique.
